FAQs
The questions below are the ones we actually get asked. If yours is not here, email us — a person answers, usually within one business day.
Choosing a grinder
What do "2-layer" and "4-layer" mean?
A 2-layer grinder grinds and collects, and that is all. A 4-layer grinder adds a mesh screen and a separate chamber underneath, so the finest material falls through and collects on its own instead of staying packed in the teeth. If you are choosing between two otherwise similar grinders, this is the difference that matters most.
What size should I get?
Most of ours sit between 50 mm and 65 mm. Around 50 mm is comfortable to carry; 63–65 mm is a desk piece that lets you do the whole amount in one go. Bigger is easier to use and harder to pocket — that is the whole trade-off.
Which one is easiest on the hands?
The Crank. You turn a folding handle instead of gripping and twisting, which takes almost no grip strength and no wrist rotation. If a normal grinder is uncomfortable for you, that is the one to look at.
Are the novelty shapes just for looks?
No. The shaped grinders — the burger, the spheres, the skull, the cookie — are working grinders with the same chambers and teeth as the plain ones. The shape is the outside.
Metal or plastic?
Most are metal, usually zinc alloy or aluminium. A few pieces are plastic or silicone where that is the better material — storage tubes, a silicone bowl. Every product page states the material for each part. We do not describe a plastic item as metal.
The kits and sets
Which kit should I buy?
The Bench is the smallest and the only one with prep tools — scissors and a cone loader. The Trifecta and The Blueprint are grinder and tray combinations. The Courier is the travel set: full-size pieces in a hard case. The Loadout is the complete home set, including an ashtray, with every piece in a matching finish.
Is the grinder inside a kit any good, or is it filler?
It varies, and we say which is which on each page. The Courier's grinder is a full 50 mm zinc alloy unit. The Loadout's is a simpler 2-layer design. If you want a serious grinder plus a set, pairing a kit with a standalone grinder is a common and sensible combination.
Do the kits come in gift packaging?
Several include their own case or tin, so they arrive as a finished object rather than loose parts. We do not currently offer separate gift wrapping.
Shipping and delivery
How long will my order take?
We dispatch within 1–3 business days. Tracked delivery then typically takes 10–20 business days depending on your country and local customs. You will get a tracking link by email when it ships.
Why does tracking show nothing for a few days?
This is normal and it is the single most common question we get. Tracking often takes 3–7 days after dispatch to start updating, because the first scans happen when the parcel reaches an international hub. Nothing is wrong.
Is shipping free?
Free tracked shipping on orders over $30. Below that, the cost is calculated at checkout before you pay.
Do you ship to my country?
Enter your address at checkout and available options will appear. We cannot ship to territories under trade restrictions, or anywhere these products may not lawfully be imported.
Will I pay customs or import duty?
Possibly, depending on where you live and the value of your order. Any duty or import tax is set by your country and is the customer's responsibility. We have no way to calculate or pay it in advance.
Is the packaging discreet?
Parcels arrive in plain outer packaging with no description of the contents on the outside.
My order arrived in two parcels — is something missing?
Orders with several items sometimes ship separately and arrive on different days, at no extra cost. If part of an order arrives and the rest has not appeared within 10 business days, contact us.
Returns, refunds and problems
What is your returns policy?
Fourteen days from delivery. If an item is faulty, damaged, or not what the page described, we cover the return shipping and you choose a refund or a replacement.
Can I return something I simply did not like?
Yes, within fourteen days, provided it is unused and in its original packaging. Return shipping in that case is yours to pay.
Something arrived damaged. What do I do?
Email us within fourteen days with your order number and photographs of both the product and the packaging. Please wait for our reply before sending anything back — unauthorised returns cannot be processed, because different items route to different addresses.
Can I cancel or change my order?
If it has not shipped yet, yes — email us as soon as possible and we will cancel and refund in full, or correct the address. Once it is with the carrier it cannot be changed, but you can still return it.
How long does a refund take?
We process it as soon as the return is confirmed. Your bank or card provider then usually takes a further 5–10 business days to show it.
Using and caring for your grinder
How full should I fill it?
To the middle of the teeth, never above. Overfilling is the most common reason a grinder feels stiff or grinds unevenly.
How do I clean it?
Take it apart and brush the teeth and screen with a stiff dry brush every few uses. For a deeper clean, metal parts can be soaked in isopropyl alcohol and dried completely before reassembly. Do not soak anything with a plastic window, an acrylic drawer, or a magnet.
Are they dishwasher safe?
No. Heat and detergent damage the finish and can loosen the threads.
The threads have become stiff. What now?
That is almost always residue in the thread. Brush it out dry. If a grinder is genuinely seizing within the first fourteen days, that is a fault — contact us.
Payment, prices and the store
What currency are your prices in?
US dollars (USD). Your bank converts at its own rate if you pay in another currency.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Major credit and debit cards, and the express wallets shown at checkout. Card details are entered directly into our payment provider's system — we never see or store them.
Do I need an account to order?
No. You can check out as a guest.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. Everything here is intended for legal use with tobacco and herbs by adults aged 21 and over. It is your responsibility to know and follow the law where you live.
Where are you based?
Kfar HaNagid, Israel. Support replies within one business day, Sunday to Thursday.
