Import duties and taxes, where they apply, are set by your country and are the recipient's responsibility.

14-day returns, counted from the day your parcel arrives — not from the day you ordered. Items need to be unused and in their original packaging.

If it arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect, we pay the return shipping and you choose a full refund or a free replacement. If you simply changed your mind, the return shipping is yours.

You Turn A Handle. And You Can Watch It Work.

Every other grinder asks the same thing of you: grip both halves, squeeze, and twist your wrist against the resistance. For most people that is fine. For anyone with stiff hands, a weak grip, an old injury — or just a full grinder that has gone tight — it is the single most annoying part of the process.

The Crank removes it. You hold the body and turn a handle, the same motion as a pepper mill. Steel blades spin under a clear window, and because the window is clear you can see exactly when it is done instead of opening it up to check. The handle folds flat against the lid when you are finished.

Then there is the drawer. Everything falls through a perforated plate into a clear drawer that slides out of the side — pull the red knob, tip it, push it back. No unscrewing anything, and no guessing how full it is, because you can see straight through it.

Why It Works

A Handle That Folds Away

Turning a crank needs almost no grip and no wrist rotation. The steel handle folds flat against the lid afterwards, so nothing catches in a bag or a drawer.

A Clear Top

The blades spin under a transparent window, so you can see the texture and stop at the right moment. Every other grinder is a closed box you open and hope.

A Clear Drawer

Pull the knob and it slides out of the side. Clear plastic, so you know what is in there without opening it, and a fine mesh screen inside to separate the dust.

Four Real Layers

Cap, crank chamber, toothed grinding chamber over a perforated plate, and the drawer underneath. Four parts that each do a separate job.

Why It Earns Its Place

  • It is the accessible one. Stiff hands, arthritis, a weak grip, a healing injury — a crank asks for none of the strength a twist does.
  • You can see everything. Clear top, clear drawer, and windows in the side of the body. It is the only grinder here that tells you where you are without being opened.
  • The drawer changes the routine. Slide it out, empty it, slide it back — no taking the grinder apart to get at the result.
  • Blades and teeth, not just teeth. The crank spins steel blades over a diamond-toothed chamber, which is why it needs so little effort from you.
  • 63 mm is a proper size. Wide enough to do the whole thing in one go rather than three small ones.
  • Metal body. It has the weight to sit still on a table while you turn the handle — which is what makes one-handed use possible at all.
  • Five finishes, including the rainbow. The iridescent one is the best-looking object in the catalogue, and photographs do not quite do it justice.

Grinders are built on the assumption that everyone can twist one open and wrestle it shut, and that you should not need to see inside. This one makes neither assumption — and once you have used a handle and a window, going back feels like working blind.

Using It
  • Lift the cap and fill to the middle of the teeth. A crank gives you leverage, which makes it easy to overfill without feeling it — go lighter than seems right.
  • Set it down and hold the body. The weight of the metal does the holding; you only turn the handle.
  • Watch through the window and stop when it looks right. That is what the clear top is for, and it is the fastest way to avoid over-grinding.
  • Pull the red knob to open the drawer. Straight out, straight back in — nothing unscrews.
  • Fold the handle down before it goes in a bag. It sits flush against the lid.
  • Brush the blades and teeth every few uses. A crank hides build-up, because you never feel it getting harder the way you would with a twist.
Questions People Ask

Is the crank really easier than twisting?

Considerably. A handle gives you leverage and needs almost no grip. If arthritis, a weak grip or an old wrist injury makes a normal grinder uncomfortable, this is the one we would point you to first.

Does the handle stick out?

Only while you are using it. It folds flat against the lid the rest of the time, so there is nothing to snag.

What is the drawer for?

Everything falls through the perforated plate into it. Instead of unscrewing chambers, you pull the knob, slide the drawer out of the side, tip it and push it back. It is clear, so you always know how much is in there.

Which colour should I get?

The rainbow is the one people comment on — an iridescent oil-slick finish that shifts as it moves. Rose gold is the warm copper. Black and silver are the quiet ones. The grinder is identical inside all five; only the finish differs, and a couple of the finishes cost more to produce, which is why the prices are not all the same.

Is 63 mm big?

It is one of the larger grinders here — a desk piece rather than a pocket one. If you want something to carry, The Biscuit or The Capsule will suit you better.
